Our New Favorite Park

Milo LOVES playing with other dogs and I LOVE watching, so I've been spending most of my weekends driving him 30 minutes + to the dog park near my work or to corgi meet ups in West LA.  I did an internet search and found a fairly new dog park just down the street in Downey and was excited to find something so close.

We went to check it out over my Christmas break and there wasn't a single dog there, so I thought it never got used and continued taking him at least 30 minutes away so he could have other dogs to play with.  About 3 weeks ago I was short on time and decided to give the local park another try.  Glad I did!

Every time we have gone since there has been a really good group of dogs and he always come home with this smile on his face.

After a few back to back days of rain we took the small window of dryness to visit again.

After his friends left we brought out his favorite ball and let him herd it to get the last of his energy out.

He had such a good time he was too muddy for the car.  Luckily I still had his baby crate in the trunk.  :)

We will still make occasional trips to corgi meet ups and different parks, but it sure is nice to have the option to let him have some fun and be able to get some other things done over the weekend as well!

Playa Vista Meet Up 1/15/11

I took Milo out to the Oberrieder Dog Park in Playa Vista for another corgi meet up last weekend.  I love watching him play with the other dogs.

Milo has a twin named Ollie!

If there is water to step in he will find it.

The chase is on!

Corgi train.

Milo and Maya remembered each other from the Pasadena meet up and seemed happy to see each other.

Playing in water...

+ running in dirt...

= Mud Ball.

He slept for a day and a half after this one.

Pasadena Corgi Meet Up

It was such a great sight  to pull up to the park and see 10-20 corgis running around.  Milo wasted no time making new friends.

He especially hit it off with Donovan and the 2 seemed pretty oblivious to the rest of the dogs most of the time.

I think you can tell by his faces he was having a good time.

Milo Meets His 1/2 Sister

We met Quixote and her humans Priscilla and Daniel at the Redondo Beach Dog Park.

She is just shy of 2 months older than Milo and shares the same father.

They hit it off right away!  It was so cute watching them play together.

He has really come out of his shell around other dogs over the last week or two.

Now only if he could get the other dish a little closer, then he would be able to have all 4 paws in water!

I guess we will have to bring him to the park more often now that he is making so many friends.

Huntington Dog Beach

Huey and I had a couple days off together so we decided to take Milo back to Dog Beach.  Our 1st visit there Milo was a little overwhelmed and didn't get a chance to really enjoy it...this time he did!

Happy dog!

I think he was smiling just about the whole time we were there.

Chasing bubbles.

He even began to feel a lot more comfortable around bigger dogs.

Can we come back tomorrow?

In the last 2 weeks I've spent more time on the beach with Milo than I did in the 2 years I lived here.
